Nice Day!!!

Had a great day today, 1st me and the family went to the range and got a good two hours of trigger time. We all got to shoot and it was good to get out and have a little fun. 2nd we all got home washed up and had a second Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone was out of town for thanksgiving except for me and my wife and today everyone got back into town so we had our Thanksgiving today and it was great. It was me, my wife one of our girls with her husband(our son in-law) his dad, sister and her boyfriend. It was a great time all around. I have been a little behind on my preps this last two weeks so I plan to work on preps all day Sunday, well first church then preps.
Everyone have a good weekend!!!

The Day Of Crazy People!!!!

Black Friday is full of sick and crazy people. If these people would use 10% of the effort that they put into shopping on Black Friday and put that 10% into food storage and prepping. We would have a better outlook for survival in this country. Think about it, What if you lived in a town where everyone stored food and other needed items to survive the coming collapse. And everyone shared info on how to prep, hunt, cook, can food and other needed skills so that everyone was not just ready but could use the preps and there skills to survive any coming collapse. I know this will never happen because if you get ten people in a room and they all see the same event, like a person walking into the room and trip over something. Then you ask each person what just happened you would get a few answers and only one of them are true. We as a people will never be on the same page and because of this you can bet that only a small few will have preps and food storage. And because of this when the collapse hits so many will run crazy just like they do on Black Friday. They will make a run on the stores and steal everything that is not nailed down. I for one let everyone know that knows I prep that if you show of at my home after the collapse you best be there to barter or trade, because I will not give handouts. Plus very few people even know where I live and I plan to keep it that way.
So if you were out in this mess today I feel sorry for you and if you stayed home like me and got some good sleep, good for you. I think this day is the biggest mess of the year and I only go out when I have to.
Keep your eyes open and stay ready there is so much going on now that could just pop and send us into a big mess over night, like the Korea mess or the fact the Russia and China have put the dollar on the back burner. And never forget that this government never tells the truth to you or it's self. As Christmas rounds the bend don't forget your prepping and the gifts you could give to start off a family member into prepping!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and you all have a great weekend......

North And South Korea In The News

Early Tuesday, North Korea fired artillery shells at the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, which sits off the disputed maritime border between the two countries. The attack killed two South Korean marines and wounded 18 soldiers and civilians. It prompted an exchange of fire between the two sides, involving around 175 artillery shells and lasting about an hour.

The North accused South Korea of having started the exchange by firing shells inside North Korean territory during a set of South Korean military exercises that the North called "war maneuvers." The South denies that charge, saying that its soldiers were merely conducting military drills and that no shots fell in North Korean territory.

The North Korean attack was the first on a civilian area of South Korea since the Korean War.
From Yahoo News

So the nut in North Korea is flexing his power and the US wants to sit down with them and talk about there nuclear capacity. So all it will take is a few more of the nuts over there to pound a few more artillery shells and kill a few more people and then we will be in the middle of one more war. I think is is so funny the timing of some of the stuff that is going on in the world. Just look at the TSA and the body X-ray and the pat-downs and all the crap they are getting, I will bet you that something will happen on a plane or at an airport so they can say, 'Look you need this to be safe!" And I'm sure there is a reason for the Korea event and there will something that comes out of it that will help this government take more of our freedoms. I'm getting to where I don't trust anything, and when I say anything I mean anything that any one of the fools in office ever say. They all lie and NOT ONE OF THEM CARE ABOUT YOU OR ME!! And never will care. That crap about for the people and by the people is not true anymore. The only way this country will ever change is for the collapse to hit and we rebuild the country from the Constitution Up!

OK I'm done with talking from my soap box.........

Martial Law In America

From Wikipedia:
Martial law is the imposition of military rule by military authorities over designated regions on an emergency basis—usually only temporary—when the civilian government or civilian authorities fail to function effectively (e.g., maintain order and security, and provide essential services), when there are extensive riots and protests, or when the disobedience of the law becomes widespread. In most cases, military forces are deployed to quiet the crowds, to secure government buildings of key or sensitive locations, and to maintain order. Generally, military personnel replace civil authorities and perform some or all of their functions. The constitution could be suspended, and in full-scale martial law, the highest ranking military General would take over, or be installed, as the military governor or as head of the government, thus removing all power from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government.
Martial law can be used by governments to enforce their rule over the public. Such incidents may occur after a coup d'├ętat (Thailand 2006); when threatened by popular protest (China, Tiananmen Square protests of 1989); to suppress political opposition (Poland in 1981); to stabilize insurrections or perceived insurrections (Canada, The October Crisis of 1970). Martial law may be declared in cases of major natural disasters, however most countries use a different legal construct, such as a "state of emergency".
Martial law has also been imposed during conflicts and in cases of occupations, where the absence of any other civil government provides for an unstable population. Examples of this form of military rule include post World War II reconstruction in Germany and Japan as well as the southern reconstruction following the U.S. Civil War.
Typically, the imposition of martial law accompanies curfews, the suspension of civil law, civil rights, habeas corpus, and the application or extension of military law or military justice to civilians. Civilians defying martial law may be subjected to military tribunal (court-martial).

Is this country on it's way to Martial Law? Most people think we are in a Police State now and only the next step needs to be made to go into full Martial Law. One thing is for sure we are getting our freedoms taken away at a crazy rate. Each week you read about more and more bullshit the not so great leaders of this country are going to push on us, it's not even"TRY TO PUSH" anymore because now they just by pass the law or get rid of any law that slows them down. The Patriot Act helps them to bend and remove any law that get in there way of Martial Law. If you think it can never happen here, then I feel sorry for you because it not only can happen but I'm about 99% sure it will happen here and soon.
Get yourself ready to survive with food, water and Guns, guns, guns and more guns with a lot of ammo!!! If you can't fight for your freedom who will? It's time to make a stand for true freedom and make this country a free country again!

Went Shopping Today

Used the coupons I cut and saved $25.00 over all. Got some good item to store and some good items to use for the cooking at Thanksgiven. We went to the wal-mart early and beat the crowds or hoards of walking dead doing there shopping. I saw a lot of items that have gone way up in price but the holiday items seam to be holding in price and with the coupons I did well. We got $100 worth of stuff for $74.58 and still have a lot of coupons to use for the next shopping trip. We got cooking oil that were priced at $2.50 for $1.00 with the two coupons we could use, one was store and one was vendor. I never used coupons before but now I'm hooked. I will use them to help build up my preps and extra needed household items. Now is the best time to cut coupons because they put so many in the paper and the store has them out to use to.
Keep your eye's open and your mind ready, because the collapse is coming and when it hits it will hit hard......

Mistakes of Food Storage

I know most of you have seen this but it's such good info I am reposting it. Keep up your prepping!!!

7 Mistakes of Food Storage

By Vicki Tate

If you are going to store food, make sure that the food you store is adequate for the need you and your family anticipate. This may not be as easy as to achieve as many people think, because the facts are that most people make serious errors when storing food—errors that will come back to haunt them when the food they’ve stored is the only thing that stands between them and their empty, dissatisfied, bellies. There are seven common mistakes people make when storing food. They are:

1. Variety
Most people don’t have enough variety in their storage. 95% of the people I’ve worked with have only stored four basic items: wheat, milk, honey, and salt. Statistics show most of us won’t survive on such a diet for several reasons.

a) Many people are allergic to wheat and may not be aware of it until they are eating it meal after meal.

b) Wheat is too harsh for young children. They can tolerate it in small amounts but not as their main staple.

c) We get tired of eating the same foods over and over and many times prefer to not eat, then to sample that particular food again. This is called appetite fatigue. Young children and older people are particularly susceptible to it. Store less wheat than is generally suggested and put the difference into a variety of other grains, particularly ones your family likes to eat. Also store a variety of beans, as this will add color, texture, and flavor. Variety is the key to a successful storage program. It is essential that you store flavorings such as tomato, bouillon, cheese, and onion. Also, include a good supply of the spices you like to cook with. These flavorings and spices allow you to do many creative things with your grains and beans. Without them you are severely limited. One of the best suggestions I can give you is buy a good food storage cookbook, go through it, and see what your family would really eat. Notice the ingredients as you do it. This will help you more than anything else to know what items to store.

2. Extended staples
Never put all your eggs in one basket. Store dehydrated and/or freeze dried foods as well as home canned and “store bought” canned goods. Make sure you add cooking oil, shortening, baking powder, soda, yeast, and powdered eggs. You can’t cook even the most basic recipes without these items.

3. Vitamins
Vitamins are important, especially if you have children, since children do not store body reserves of nutrients as adults do. A good quality multi-vitamin and vitamin C are the most vital. Others might be added as your budget permits.

4. Quick and easy and “psychological foods”
Quick and easy foods help you through times when you are psychologically or physically unable to prepare your basic storage items. “No cook” foods such as freeze-dried are wonderful since they require little preparation, MREs (Meal Ready to Eat), such as many preparedness outlets carry, canned goods, etc. are also very good. “Psychological foods” are the goodies—Jello, pudding, candy, etc.—you should add to your storage. These may sound frivolous, but through the years I've talked with many people who have lived entirely on their storage for extended periods of time. Nearly all of them say these were the most helpful items in their storage to “normalize” their situations and make it more bearable. These are especially important if you have children.

5. Balance
Time and time again I’ve seen families buy all of their wheat, then buy all of another item and so on. Don’t do that. It’s important to keep well-balanced as you build your storage. Buy several items, rather than a large quantity of one item. If something happens and you have to live on your present storage, you’ll fare much better having a one month supply of a variety of items than a year’s supply of two or three items.

6. Containers
Always store your bulk foods in food storage containers. I have seen literally tons and tons of food thrown away because they were left in sacks, where they became highly susceptible to moisture, insects, and rodents. If you are using plastic buckets make sure they are lined with a food grade plastic liner available from companies that carry packaging supplies. Never use trash can liners as these are treated with pesticides. Don’t stack them too high. In an earthquake they may topple, the lids pop open, or they may crack. A better container is the #10 tin can which most preparedness companies use when they package their foods.

7. Use your storage
In all the years I’ve worked with preparedness one of the biggest problems I’ve seen is people storing food and not knowing what to do with it. It’s vital that you and your family become familiar with the things you are storing. You need to know how to prepare these foods. This is not something you want to have to learn under stress. Your family needs to be used to eating these foods. A stressful period is not a good time to totally change your diet. Get a good food storage cookbook and learn to use these foods! It’s better to find out the mistakes you’ll make now while there’s still time to make corrections. It’s easy to take basic food storage and add the essentials that make it tasty, and it needs to be done. As I did the research for my cookbook, Cooking with Home Storage, I wanted to include recipes that gave help to families no matter what they had stored. As I put the material together it was fascinating to discover what the pioneers ate compared to the types of things we store. If you have stored only the basics, there’s very little you can do with it. By adding even just a few things, it greatly increases your options, and the prospect of your family surviving on it. As I studied how the pioneers lived and ate, my whole feeling for food storage changed. I realized our storage is what most of the world has always lived on. If it’s put together the right way we are returning to good basic food with a few goodies thrown in.

The Police State And The Coming Collapse

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free… it expects what never was and never will be.” – Thomas Jefferson

“Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.” – Thomas Jefferson

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” – John F. Kennedy

“A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” – John F. Kennedy

The United States of America is a police state and has been for a few years now. Starting back with President Bush Jr. Shortly after the Patriot act was started this country fell into the first real signs of being a police state. Each day, week, and month we see our liberty's being removed from us. 95% of the people in this country sit by and say nothing. Just look at what the TSA is doing. They started the new rules that you had to use the full body scanners. Some of the smarter "walking dead" starting standing up and refusing to use the scanner. So then they started a "standard pat down". Although the standard pat down did not work the way they wanted it to, and did not scare enough people into using the scanners. Now they have up'ed the pat-down to what is basically sexual assault. Now they hope with fear you will just bypass the pat-down and chose the scanner's for less complications. This is all just one more way for big brother and big brothers daddy The New World Order to get us ready and condition us for the full blown Marshal Law. For months you have read and heard people talk about this country being socialist's but friends I fear to tell you it is going beyond socialist and may not be too long before we are Communist's.
I am 100% sure that an ecconomic collaps is shortly on it's way. Now is the time to prepare. Stock up on food , water, guns and ammo and other house hold items so you can survive the collaps. Our time is short our day's are growing fewer and now is the time to make a stand for freedom. If not for yourself do it for your family.
Life goes on........ will you?

Yes Or No????

Who will have to fly this holiday season? And if you fly will you let the TSA use extremely invasive genital groping or get scanned by an extremely invasive and potentially hazardous machine? But if you don't do one or the other you will not fly and could be fined $10,000 and jail time. As for me, I will not be flying anymore just because of this Bullshit. I think that the pat-downs and scanner machine is just the start to the BS the NWO will start to pull on us. RFID chips are next, first in your ID then your cars and then in you. It want be long till each and everyone of the people who walk this earth has a big number on there ass and a chip in there arm so big brother can keep up with every place you go or have been. They will know everything about you where you shop and what you buy. They will have control of your money, food and just about everything about you leaving you no control of your own life. Some of this is true today and it want be very long till the rest comes into play.
So now I ask you this question, "Yes or No? Will you put a stop to the New World Order?" And will you make a stand for your own life and the lives of your family? Our time is short and the government is pushing all of us into a big corner. The real question is will you push back? Will you survive the coming collapse?
Now is the time to make our stand!!!!!
Now is the time to draw your line in the sand!!!!
Now is the time to fight the NWO!!!!!!

What Did You Do This Week To Add To Your Prep's?

I got more ammo two bricks of 22LR and more food to store. We hit Wal-Mart this week and got some more ammo and a ton of canned soup and more oats, grits and rice. Then I was at Sportsman's Warehouse and picked up some extras for my zippo,(5 wicks, 3 packs of flints and 5 things of lighter fuel) It just kills my wife that I have a zippo lighter and don't smoke and never have. I think having a zippo is a must for a survivalist along with a few(few=3 to 100) bic lighters to.
We plan to work on our prep's a lot more over the next few weeks. With the Christmas season here so comes the coupons for the shopping and I stock up on needed cooking items this time of year every year. Each week from now till Christmas the paper will be full of cooking coupons for stuff like oil, sugar, cake mix, nuts, butter and many other needed items and with some of the sales you can get things for 50, 60, 75% off regular price, so keep your eye's out for the coupons. Me and the wife go to this one little restaurant on Sunday after the rush and have lunch, every week there are about three or four papers sitting around to look at and at least two or three still have all the coupons in them, so we ask if we can have the coupons and every week they say yes. This way we can get two or three of the good coupons to use on our stocking up trips. And most of the coupons are good for two or three months so we have a little bit of time to use them. With the cost of food getting crazy we need to look for other ways to save and if coupons is one way go for it. I think the collapse is getting very close and time in not on our side, so get out there and prep like crazy.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

EMP Info

PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM EMP
by

DUNCAN LONG

EMP. The letters spell burnt out computers and other electrical systems
and perhaps even a return to the dark ages if it were to mark the beginning of
a nuclear war. But it doesn't need to be that way. Once you understand EMP,
you can take a few simple precautions to protect yourself and equipment from
it. In fact, you can enjoy much of the "high tech" life style you've come
accustomed to even after the use of a nuclear device has been used by ter-
rorists--or there is an all-out WWIII.

EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse), also sometimes known as "NEMP" (Nuclear
Electromagnetic Pulse), was kept secret from the public for a long time and was
first discovered more or less by accident when US Military tests of nuclear
weapons started knocking out phone banks and other equipment miles from ground
zero.

EMP is no longer "top secret" but information about it is still a little
sketchy and hard to come by. Adding to the problems is the fact that its
effects are hard to predict; even electronics designers have to test their
equipment in powerful EMP simulators before they can be sure it is really
capable of with standing the effect.

EMP occurs with all nuclear explosions. With smaller explosions the
effects are less pronounced. Nuclear bursts close to the ground are dampened
by the earth so that EMP effects are more or less confined to the region of the
blast and heat wave. But EMP becomes more pronounced and wide spread as the
size and altitude of a nuclear blast is increased since the ground; of these
two, altitude is the quickest way to produce greater EMP effects. As a nuclear
device is exploded higher up, the earth soaks up fewer of the free electrons
produced before they can travel some distance.

The most "enhanced" EMP effects would occur if a nuclear weapon were
exploded in space, outside the Earth's atmosphere. In such a case, the gamma
radiation released during the flash cycle of the weapon would react with the
upper layer of the earth's atmosphere and strip electrons free from the air
molecules, producing electromagnetic radiation similar to broad-band radio
waves (10 kHz-100 MHz) in the process. These electrons would follow the
earth's magnetic field and quickly circle toward the ground where they would be
finally dampened. (To add to the confusion, we now have two more EMP terms:
"Surface EMP" or "SEMP" which refers to ground bursts with limited-range
effects and "High-altitude EMP" or "HEMP" which is the term used for a nuclear
detonation creating large amounts of EMP.)

Tactically, a space-based nuclear attack has a lot going for it; the
magnetic field of the earth tends to spread out EMP so much that just one 20-MT
bomb exploded at an altitude of 200 miles could--in theory--blanket the
continental US with the effects of EMP. It's believed that the electrical
surge of the EMP from such an explosion would be strong enough to knock out
much of the civilian electrical equipment over the whole country. Certainly
this is a lot of "bang for the buck" and it would be foolish to think that a
nuclear attack would be launched without taking advantage of the confusion a
high-altitude explosion could create. Ditto with its use by terrorists should
the technology to get such payloads into space become readily available to
smaller countries and groups.

But there's no need for you to go back to the stone age if a nuclear war
occurs. It is possible to avoid much of the EMP damage that could be done to
electrical equipment--including the computer that brought this article to you--
with just a few simple precautions.

First of all, it's necessary to get rid of a few erroneous facts, however.

One mistaken idea is that EMP is like a powerful bolt of lightning. While
the two are alike in their end results--burning out electrical equipment with
intense electronic surges--EMP is actually more akin to a super-powerful radio
wave. Thus, strategies based on using lightning arrestors or lightning-rod
grounding techniques are destined to failure in protecting equipment from EMP.

Another false concept is that EMP "out of the blue" will fry your brain
and/or body the way lightning strikes do. In the levels created by a nuclear
weapon, it would not pose a health hazard to plants, animals, or man PROVIDED
it isn't concentrated.

EMP can be concentrated.

That could happen if it were "pulled in" by a stretch of metal. If this
happened, EMP would be dangerous to living things. It could become concen-
trated by metal girders, large stretches of wiring (including telephone lines),
long antennas, or similar set ups. So--if a nuclear war were in the offing--
you'd do well to avoid being very close to such concentrations. (A safe
distance for nuclear-generated EMP would be at least 8 feet from such stretches
of metal.)

This concentration of EMP by metal wiring is one reason that most e-
lectrical equipment and telephones would be destroyed by the electrical surge.
It isn't that the equipment itself is really all that sensitive, but that the
surge would be so concentrated that nothing working on low levels of electric-
ity would survive.

Protecting electrical equipment is simple if it can be unplugged from AC
outlets, phone systems, or long antennas. But that assumes that you won't be
using it when the EMP strikes. That isn't all that practical and--if a nuclear
war were drawn out or an attack occurred in waves spread over hours or days--
you'd have to either risk damage to equipment or do without it until things had
settled down for sure.

One simple solution is to use battery-operated equipment which has cords
or antennas of only 30 inches or less in length. This short stretch of metal
puts the device within the troughs of the nuclear-generated EMP wave and will
keep the equipment from getting a damaging concentration of electrons.
Provided the equipment isn't operated close to some other metal object (i.e.,
within 8 feet of a metal girder, telephone line, etc.), it should survive
without any other precautions being taken with it.

If you don't want to buy a wealth of batteries for every appliance you own
or use a radio set up with longer than 30-inch antenna, then you'll need to use
equipment that is "hardened" against EMP.

The trick is that it must REALLY be hardened from the real thing, not just
EMP-proof on paper. This isn't all that easy; the National Academy of Sciences
recently stated that tailored hardening is "not only deceptively difficult,
but also very poorly understood by the defense-electronics community." Even
the US Military has equipment which might not survive a nuclear attack, even
though it is designed to do just that.

That said, there are some methods which will help to protect circuits
from EMP and give you an edge if you must operate ham radios or the like when a
nuclear attack occurs. Design considerations include the use of tree formation
circuits (rather than standard loop formations); the use of induction shielding
around components; the use of self-contained battery packs; the use of loop
antennas; and (with solid-state components) the use of Zener diodes. These
design elements can eliminate the chance an EMP surge from power lines or long
antennas damaging your equipment. Another useful strategy is to use grounding
wires for each separate instrument which is coupled into a system so that EMP
has more paths to take in grounding itself.

A new device which may soon be on the market holds promise in allowing
electronic equipment to be EMP hardened. Called the "Ovonic threshold device",
it has been created by Energy Conversion Devices of Troy, MI. The Ovonic
threshold device is a solid-state switch capable of quickly opening a path to
ground when a circuit receives a massive surge of EMP. Use of this or a
similar device would assure survival of equipment during a massive surge of
electricity.

Some electrical equipment is innately EMP-resistant. This includes
large electric motors, vacuum tube equipment, electrical generators, trans-
formers, relays, and the like. These might even survive a massive surge of EMP
and would likely to survive if a few of the above precautions were taking in
their design and deployment.

At the other end of the scale of EMP resistance are some really sensitive
electrical parts. These include IC circuits, microwave transistors, and Field
Effect Transistors (FET's). If you have electrical equipment with such com-
ponents, it must be very well protected if it is to survive EMP.

One "survival system" for such sensitive equipment is the Faraday box.

A Faraday box is simply a metal box designed to divert and soak up the
EMP. If the object placed in the box is insulated from the inside surface of
the box, it will not be effected by the EMP traveling around the outside metal
surface of the box. The Faraday box simple and cheap and often provides more
protection to electrical components than "hardening" through circuit designs
which can't be (or haven't been) adequately tested.

Many containers are suitable for make-shift Faraday boxes: cake boxes,
ammunition containers, metal filing cabinets, etc., etc., can all be used.
Despite what you may have read or heard, these boxes do NOT have to be air-
tight due to the long wave length of EMP; boxes can be made of wire screen or
other porous metal.

The only two requirements for protection with a Faraday box are: (1) the
equipment inside the box does NOT touch the metal container (plastic, wadded
paper, or cardboard can all be used to insulate it from the metal) and (2) the
metal shield is continuous without any gaps between pieces or extra-large holes
in it.

Grounding a Faraday box is NOT necessary and in some cases actually may be
less than ideal. While EMP and lightning aren't the "same animal", a good
example of how lack of grounding is a plus can be seen with some types of
lightning strikes. Take, for example, a lightning strike on a flying air-
plane. The strike doesn't fry the plane's occupants because the metal shell of
the plane is a Faraday box of sorts. Even though the plane, high over the
earth, isn't grounded it will sustain little damage.

In this case, much the same is true of small Faraday cages and EMP.
Consequently, storage of equipment in Faraday boxes on wooden shelves or the
like does NOT require that everything be grounded. (One note: theoretically
non-grounded boxes might hold a slight charge of electricity; take some time
and care before handling ungrounded boxes following a nuclear attack.)

The thickness of the metal shield around the Faraday box isn't of much
concern, either. This makes it possible to build protection "on the cheap" by
simply using the cardboard packing box that equipment comes in along with
aluminum foil. Just wrap the box with the aluminum foil (other metal foil or
metal screen will also work); tape the foil in place and you're done. Provided
it is kept dry, the cardboard will insulate the gear inside it from the foil;
placing the foil-wrapped box inside a larger cardboard box is also wise to be
sure the foil isn't accidentally ripped anywhere. The result is an "instant"
Faraday box with your equipment safely stored inside, ready for use following a
nuclear war.

Copper or aluminum foil can help you insulate a whole room from EMP
as well. Just paper the wall, ceiling and floor with metal foil. Ideally the
floor is then covered with a false floor of wood or with heavy carpeting to
insulate everything and everyone inside from the shield (and EMP). The only
catch to this is that care must be taken NOT to allow electrical wiring
connections to pierce the foil shield (i.e., no AC powered equipment or radio
antennas can come into the room from outside). Care must also be taken that
the door is covered with foil AND electrically connected to the shield with a
wire and screws or some similar set up.

Many government civil defense shelters are now said to have gotten the
Faraday box, "foil" treatment. These shelters are covered inside with metal
foil and have metal screens which cover all air vents and are connected to the
metal foil. Some of these shelters probably make use of new optical fiber
systems--protected by plastic pipe--to "connect" communications gear inside the
room to the "outside world" without creating a conduit for EMP energy to enter
the shelter.

Another "myth" that seems to have grown up with information on EMP is that
nearly all cars and trucks would be "knocked out" by EMP. This seems logical,
but is one of those cases where "real world" experiments contradict theoretical
answers and I'm afraid this is the case with cars and EMP. According to
sources working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, cars have proven to be
resistant to EMP in actual tests using nuclear weapons as well as during more
recent tests (with newer cars) with the US Military's EMP simulators.

One reason for the ability of a car to resist EMP lies in the fact that
its metal body is "insulated" by its rubber tires from the ground. This
creates a Faraday cage of sorts. (Drawing on the analogy of EMP being similar
to lightning, it is interesting to note that cases of lightning striking and
damaging cars is almost non-existent; this apparently carries over to EMP
effects on vehicles as well.)

Although Faraday boxes are generally made so that what is inside doesn't
touch the box's outer metal shield (and this is especially important for the
do-it-yourselfer since it is easy to inadvertently ground the Faraday box--say
by putting the box on metal shelving sitting on a concrete floor), in the
case of the car the "grounded" wiring is grounded only to the battery. In
practice, the entire system is not grounded in the traditional electrical
wiring sense of actually making contact to the earth at some point in its
circuitry. Rather the car is sitting on insulators made of rubber.

It is important to note that cars are NOT 100 percent EMP proof; some cars
will most certainly be effected, especially those with fiberglass bodies or
located near large stretches of metal. (I suspect, too, that recent cars with
a high percentage of IC circuitry might also be more susceptible to EMP
effects.)

The bottom line is that all vehicles probably won't be knocked out by
EMP. But the prudent survivalist should make a few contingency plans "just in
case" his car (and other electrical equipment) does not survive the effects of
EMP. Discovering that you have one of the few cars knocked out would not be a
good way to start the onset of terrorist attack or nuclear war.

Most susceptable to EMP damage would be cars with a lot of IC circuits or
other "computers" to control essential changes in the engine. The very prudent
may wish to buy spare electronic ignition parts and keep them a car truck
(perhaps inside a Faraday box). But it seems probable that many vehicles WILL
be working following the start of a nuclear war even if no precautions have
been taken with them.

One area of concern are explosives connected to electrical discharge
wiring or designed to be set off by other electric devices. These might be
set off by an EMP surge. While most citizens don't have access to such
equipment, claymore mines and other explosives would be very dangerous to be
around at the start of a nuclear box if they weren't carefully stored away in a
Faraday box. Ammunition, mines, grenades and the like in large quantities
might be prone to damage or explosion by EMP, but in general aren't all that
sensitive to EMP.

A major area of concern when it comes to EMP is nuclear reactors located
in the US. Unfortunately, a little-known Federal dictum prohibits the NRC from
requiring power plants to withstand the effects of a nuclear war. This means
that, in the event of a nuclear war, many nuclear reactors' control systems
might will be damaged by an EMP surge. In such a case, the core-cooling
controls might become inoperable and a core melt down and breaching of the
containment vessel by radioactive materials into the surrounding area might
well result. (If you were needing a reason not to live down wind from a
nuclear reactor, this is it.)

Provided you're not next door to a nuclear power plant, most of the ill
effects of EMP can be over come. EMP, like nuclear blasts and fallout, can be
survived if you have the know how and take a few precautions before hand.

And that would be worth a lot, wouldn't it?

Saving Seeds

Be sure the seeds are perfectly dry so they don't mold. Store them in tightly capped small bottles, in a cool place.
Most seeds need a "rest period" of one to several months before they will germinate. After that, germination can be tested by soaking 10 seeds, draining them, and spreading them between layers of moist cloth. Keep the cloth moist. Germination varies between two days and two weeks depending on the type of seed and temperature.

The percentage of germination decreases with age. Seeds of corn and onions can be stored for two years; peas and beans for three years; tomatoes, four years; cabbage and spinach, five years; and beets and squash, six years.

Save the best seeds, from parents with the qualities you desire. The earliest pea pods can be marked by tying a scrap of colored yarn or similar material on the vine, a sign that says these pods should not be picked. When the pods are completely ripe and dry, pull the vines and hang them in a garage or shed. When the pods are brittle shell and store the peas.

Mark chosen tomatoes and leave them on the vine until they are overripe, but pick them before they spoil. Cut the tomato and remove the seeds. Some pulp will inevitably come along. Soak the seeds and pulp in water for about two days or until they start to ferment, but not long enough to sprout. Separate the seeds from the pulp by rubbing, and dry them quickly (but not in direct sun) by spreading them thinly on newspaper.

Carrots, radishes, and other biennials will not produce seed until the second year of growth. These can be left in the garden over winter under a heavy mulch, or they can be dug and stored in damp sand in the root cellar for spring replanting. If they will be in the way of future tilling or succession planting, consider a separate area for seed production. When the seed head is almost ripe, tie a paper bag over it to collect those seeds that will otherwise fall to the ground.

Onions are also biannual, but producing bulbs or sets requires yet another year. Sow seed thickly - about a quarter of an ounce in four square feet - so they will not get too big. When the tops fall over pull them and store them in net bags for planting the following year.

In The News.........???

You know I would think you would see more in the news about how bad things are, but all I see is how things are getting better and the worst is over. Who do they think they are fooling? Not me; and I hope not you. The cost of just about everything is going up, like gas, oil, food, and just about anything you can name. I don't know of very many things that are getting cheaper. I don't sit and watch TV much but when I do I try to make it count for something. So I watch the news, history channel or discovery channel and I try to make is a show that I can learn something from. But the news I never learn anything new, just that they never tell the full truth or they tell some of the truth but with a big twist to it. The truth be told you will never get the truth from the nightly news and any truth that slips out is just a mistake. You know the saying, "Even a broken clock is right two times a day" and that is the way I look at the news. If you tell a story 50 ways at least one or two of them will have a hint of truth to it and that is just about as close as you will get to the truth on the news.
My problem is that if the news groups do care about the people they serve or sell there load of bull-crap to. Then you would think they would be talking about the coming hard times. Hell a blind man should be able to see it coming a mile away, but 95-99% of the people can't or wont see it till the collapse hits them right in the face and at that point it's to late for you to do anything. Even the government is full of crap, because if you go to the FEMA web site and read they tell you to have a 3-5 day supply of food and water for each person in your home. What the flip? Just 3-5 days of supplies to make a stand with. Hell it took FEMA 5 days to get water to the people in the Super Dome after Hurricane Katrina. I just don't know why the people of this country don't wake up and see the BS being pushed on them.

Time is short, so prep! Prep like your life is on the line, because it is on the line.

Food Prices Going Up!!!!

NIA Projects Future U.S. Food Price IncreasesNovember 5, 2010

The National Inflation Association today announced the release of its report about NIA's projections of future U.S. food price increases due to the massive monetary inflation being created by the Federal Reserve's $600 billion quantitative easing. This report was written by NIA's President Gerard Adams, who believes food inflation will take over in 2011 as America's greatest crisis. According to Mr. Adams, making mortgage payments will soon be the last thing on the minds of all Americans. We currently have a currency crisis that could soon turn into hyperinflation and a complete societal collapse.

"For every economic problem the U.S. government tries to solve, it always creates two or three much larger catastrophes in the process," said Adams. "Just like we predicted this past December, the U.S. dollar index bounced in early 2010 and has been in free-fall ever since. Bernanke's QE2 will likely accelerate this free-fall into a complete U.S. dollar rout," warned Adams.

NIA projects that at the average U.S. grocery store it will soon cost $11.43 for one ear of corn, $23.05 for a 24 oz loaf of wheat bread, $62.21 for a 32 oz package of Domino Granulated Sugar, $24.31 for a 32 fl oz container of soy milk, $77.71 for a 11.30 oz container of Folgers Classic Roast Coffee, $45.71 for a 64 fl oz container of Minute Maid Orange Juice, and $15.50 for a Hershey's Milk Chocolate 1.55 oz candy bar. NIA also projects that by the end of this decade, a plain white men's cotton t-shirt at Wal-Mart will cost $55.57.

NIA's special U.S. food price projection report is now available to download for free by clicking here.

The report highlights how despite cotton rising by 54%, corn rising by 29%, soybeans rising by 22%, orange juice rising by 17%, and sugar rising by 51% during the months of September and October alone, these huge commodity price increases have yet to make their way into America's grocery stores because corporations have been reluctant to pass these price increases along to the consumer. In today's dismal economy, no retailer wants to be the first to dramatically raise food prices. However, NIA expects all retailers to soon substantially raise food prices at the same time, which will ensure that this Holiday shopping season will be the worst in recorded American history.

Fun Day... So I Will Share Some Fun With You

Today was me and my wife's anniversary so we went out for lunch and went to a movie and it was a great day. And every part of it was fun, even the movie. So I got this funny in an e-mail today and would like to share it. Everyone have a good weekend.

Salesmanship Test
The kids filed back into class Monday

morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship. Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."

"Very good," said the teacher.

Little Jenny was next: "I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."

"Very good, Jenny," said the teacher..

Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn.

The teacher held her breath ....

Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and

dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467," he said.

"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you

selling?"

"Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.

"Toothbrushes!" echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly

sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"

"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny,

"I set up a Dip & Chip stand and gave everybody who walked by a free sample."

They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog

shit!"

Then I would say, "It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"

"I used the governmental approach of giving you something

shitty for free, and then making you pay to get the shitty taste out of your mouth."

I Voted....So What Now?

OK I voted and I don't feel any better! But I'm sure if I would have not voted I would feel much worse. So some of the fools are out and we now move a big group of new Jr. Fools into office. I do hope a few of the new people going into office will stand up and be a true patriot, but I bet you everything I own not one will go the full term as a true patriot for the people by the people. Hell I would be as happy as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest to see the whole group of new fools make a stand and be there for the people of this country. But just as the one legged man will never be a happy person I'm sure not one of the new Jr. Fools will make a full stand. I'm sure a hand full will put on a good show and help to will a few fights, but over all they will slide into big government just like the rest. OK I got that out of my system and I feel a little better. Just remember that the collapse is still going to happen and the only way to survive is to stock up and prep like crazy.

This Post Is My 500th And With It I'm Doing A Giveaway

I can't believe that it's already 500. I do try to post everyday and on a few days I post two times. It's been fun so far and I plan to keep on posting the truth and any info I can. The collapse is near and our time is short. For the few that prep and ready themselves to survive, you are the reason I blog. Not because I have all the info or I know more than you, but I blog because I like to share info and learn more than I have ever have shared. And then there are the few who do not prep or store that I try to reach out to and get them started into prepping. The supplies we store now will be the base we stand on to survive down the road when the collapse hits. So if you prep keep it up and if you don't you need to start now!!!

Now on to the Giveaway!
