Survival Skills #10 How to Store Food for Long Term Survival

How to Store Food for Long Term Survival
By WriterGig at (E-How)

Knowing how to store food for long term survival is an essential skill that few have. In early America, food storage was necessary and practiced by all. As cities grew and grocery shopping became the norm, food storage fell by the wayside for many. But now, in uncertain times as the potential for financial crises, food shortages and political unrest becomes more real, many are learning how to store food and other necessities for times of emergency, man-made or natural. Here's how to store food for long term survival

Store Food for Long Term Survival
Step 1
Create a pantry list detailing what your full home food storage should include, what you already have, and what more you need. Consult the steps below for basic recommendations, although further reading is suggested (book list below).
Step 2
Make a shopping list detailing what you need to purchase (consult your pantry list from step 1). After researching prices and availability, list the best sources next to each item. As you learn how to store food for long term survival, it will get easier and more natural.
Step 3
Purchase and prepare containers for your home food storage. For storage of whole grains and other bulk foods (wheat berries, rice, lentils, beans, raisins) use 5- or 6-gallon storage buckets, available online and in some home supply stores. Smaller (1-3 gallon size) are suitable for sugar, salt, baking powder, etc. Some food items will come in storable containers, such as canned goods.
Step 4
Compare prices and sources as you shop, noting any changes on your shopping list. For example, I purchased 35 pounds of natural peanut butter from an online food supplier for $2.30/ lb., but I later found natural peanut butter at Trader Joe's for $1.69/lb. I noted this on my shopping list, so as I build my stock of peanut butter (and replace what we eat), I'll head for Trader Joe's.
Step 5
Buy a variety of items as you build your emergency food storage pantry. For example, if your budget is $100 per month, split it between several categories, rather than just buying salt one month and sugar the next. If you were to need your supplies sooner than expected, you'd want a little of everything.
Step 6
Store water, at least 14 gallons per adult, to last two weeks. Rotate this water storage as water only has a shelf life of 6-12 months. If you have a well with a hand pump, you won't need to store water, while water storage its critical for someone dependent on a town water system. In any case, be sure to store a heavy-duty water filter/ water treatment system and spare filters.
Step 7
Choose grains, flour and beans for your home food storage. The good thing about grains is that, when stored properly in sealed containers, they can last for decades or longer. Try food co-ops, health food stores and bulk food distributors. My local health food store gives a 20% discount on bulk orders. Suggested amounts are for one adult's one-year supply:
Whole grain wheat berries, 350 lbs.
Other whole grains (barley, corn, oats, popcorn, rye), 100 lbs.
Rice (whole, brown, wild) 45 lbs.
Pastas (lasagna, egg noodles, spaghetti, wheat, veggie) 35 lbs.
Step 8
Add cereals, 75 lbs. per adult, choosing from the following: granola, oatmeal, grits, Quinoa, processed cereals ready-to-eat.
Step 9
Acquire the necessary supplies to use your food storage items. If you purchased whole grain berries, you need to buy and learn to use a grain mill. For emergency preparedness, I recommend a manual (hand crank) grain mill in case of power loss. A water filter, fire starter, medical kit, lanterns and warm blankets are also key. See link for grain mill, water filter and other supplies under Resources, below.
Step 10
Purchase 75 lbs. of legumes and beans per adult. Buy kidney beans, lentils, pinto, navy beans, split peas and other varieties as per your taste.
Step 11
Add 75 pounds of frozen beef, chicken and fish per adult to your deep freeze. Purchase a side of beef if possible, to save money. Also stock up on pemmican, beef jerky and dehydrated and canned meats.
Step 12
Build up your store-able dairy products to about 150 pounds per adult of powdered milk, dehydrated butter & cheese and buttermilk powder. Store the equivalent of 25 dozen eggs in powdered form for each person, as well as 24 cans of evaporated and condensed milks.
Step 13
Procure 100 pounds of sweeteners (honey, molasses, cane sugar, raw sugar, maple sugar, maple syrup) for each adult in the house.
Step 14
Store cooking catalysts, to the tune of 60 lbs. oils and fats (olive oil, coconut oil, safflower oil, etc.) and 5 pounds salt with 2 pounds leavenings (yeast, baking powder, sourdough starter) to round out your food storage for long term survival.
Step 15
Include goodies such as dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, coffee, drink mixes and other treats in quantity for your family to enjoy. If things are so rough that you are relying totally on your home food storage, a candy bar or cup of tea may bring comfort.

Survival Skills #9 What is Your Backup Plan? Rules Of Three!

What is your backup plan for food and water?

We all need backup plans to every part of our survival. Years ago I read about the Rules of Three, this is a set of rules that say you should have three backups to everything in your survival plan. Like your water plan, lets say you are planing to survive with two adults you will need a gallon a day per adult. So 14 gallons a week times 4 weeks gives you 56 gallons, so if you have two 30 gallon water barrel with water Preserver in it that gives you a month of water. But you still need two more backups to your water supply to stay within the rules of three. So lets say you have well for you indoor water and you have a electric water pump. You could do two things for this set up, one is rig your electric pump to be able to run on solar power and the second is to put in a hand water pump so you never need power for your water again. But to be safe you still need the 3rd backup to your water for survival, so lets say you have a stream 1/2 a mile from your house or retreat so make sure you have a small wagon with good tires and 5,10 or 15 gallon barrels to put into the wagon to pull to the stream. You will need a good water filter to filter the water and then you will need to boil the water to make sure it clean.
So now you have the rules of three all you have to do is apply it to all your survival plans and you will be more ready than you every have been before.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them are you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!! And Question your leaders, now and forever!!!

Survival Skills #7 How to Store Survival Food for Your Family

How to Store Survival Food for Your Family

The concept of survival food is to have a couple weeks of food and drink set aside in case of an emergency. Many people are relieved that they stored survival food. It has come in handy during the recession. You don’t have to gather up survival food just for a time of war. Once you gather your items for survival food how do you go about storing it?

Things You'll Need:
Dry ice
Plastic buckets
Tape
Marker
Plastic storage bags
Vacuum Sealer
Survival food items
Step 1
The key to keeping your survival food stored is to have it in vacuumed sealed bags. You can purchase a vacuum sealer and bags. Take your survival food items and seal them up again, even if they came sealed. This will insure they last longer and will be fresh when you open them in a time of crisis.
Step 2
Vacuum seal all of your bottles of medications, vitamins and supplements. You can place these in individual snack bags and then vacuum seal a couple day’s worth at a time. This will prevent you from having to open a bottle and use all of it at one time.
Step 3
Label items carefully. Make certain you specifically write on the bags what is in them. Also, label the tops of cans. Paper labels can wear off over time.
Step 4
Store items such as dried beans, wheat products and so forth in large plastic buckets. Fill the top with dry ice. Seal the bucket with a durable tape. Label the bucket. The dry ice will disappear and remove oxygen out of the bucket making the food items last longer. They’ll be fresher for when you need to use your survival food.
Step 5
Number your survival food items as you place them in storage. The first survival food item, number 1. The second survival food item label number 2. When it comes time to use the survival food, consume the survival food items with the lowest number first.

Survival Skills #6 How to Stock Survival Food During a Recession Part Two (Food Storage for $5.00 a Week)

This is a re-post from July but fits well into this post.
Food Storage for $5.00 a Week

I found this at
http://theideadoor.com/Preparedness/food_storage_for_5.htm

Please note that is list was put together many many years ago, so the idea that you can only spend $5.00 a week is not a realistic amount of money, I would guess it is more like $8-10.00 a week.

Week 1: 61bs. salt
Week 2: 5 cans cream of chicken soup
Week 3: 20 lbs. of sugar
Week 4: 8 cans tomato soup
Week 5: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 6: 6lbs. macaroni
Week 7: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 8: 8 cans tuna
Week 9: 6lbs. yeast
Week 10: 50Ibs.wheat
Week 11: 8 cans tomato soup
Week 12: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 13: 10 lbs. powdered milk
Week 14: 7 boxes macaroni and cheese
Week 15: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 16: 5 cans cream of chicken soup
Week 17: 1 bottle 500 multi-vitamins
Week 18: 10 lbs. powdered milk
Week 19: 5 cans cream mushroom soup
Week 20: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 21: 8 cans tomato soup
Week 22: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 23: 8 cans tuna
Week 24: 6 lbs. shortening
Week 25: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 26: 51bs. honey
Week 27: 10 lbs. powdered milk
Week 28: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 29:5 lbs. peanut butter
Week 30: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 31: 7 boxes macaroni and cheese
Week 32: 10 lbs. powdered milk
Week 33: 1 bottle 500 aspirin
Week 34: 5 cans cream of chicken soup
Week 35: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 36: 7 boxes macaroni and cheese
Week 37: 6lbs. salt
Week 38: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 39: 8 cans tomato soup
Week 40: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 41: 5 cans cream chicken soup
Week 42: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 43: 1 bottle 500 multi-vitamins
Week 44: 8 cans tuna
Week 45: 50 lbs. wheat
Week 46: 6lbs. macaroni
Week 47: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 48: 5 cans cream mushroom soup
Week 49: 5 lbs. honey
Week 50: 20 lbs. sugar
Week 51: 8 tomato soup
Week 52: 5 lbs. wheat

Some weeks you will have leftover change. Save the change each week in a kitty to be used for the weeks you may exceed $8.00 to $10.00 (like wheat or milk).

You will end up with:

500 pounds of wheat
180 pounds of sugar
40 pounds of powdered milk
12 pounds of salt
10 pounds of honey
5 pounds peanut butter
45 cans of tomato soup
15 cans of cream of mushroom soup
15 cans of cream of chicken soup
24 cans of tuna
21 boxes of macaroni and cheese
500 aspirin
1000 multi-vitamins
6 pounds of yeast
6 pounds of shortening
12 pounds of macaroni

This should be enough to sustain two people for one year. For every two people in your family add $10.00 more and double or triple the amount of the item you are buying that week.

Survival Skills #5 Cooking Without Power

Cooking Without Power

#1 Use a grill, hibachi, Dutch oven, or camp stove (this must be done outside and can require special cookware)
#2 Prepare “heat only” foods like canned soup, stew, chili or “just add water” foods like instant soup or oatmeal on a canned heat stove.
#3 Prepare raw foods or canned foods that do not need heating (This will only work for a short time)
#4 Prepare easy to cook meals on a one burner butane stove.
#5 Cook over open fire or open hot coals.

With cooking after the event of doom you will need a good camping style stove and at least one of not two one burner LP stove. I like to go by the rule of three, Have three ways to do anything you will need after a disaster. I have a camping stove, two LP one burner stoves and two butane stoves. Now I know that I will run out of LP or butane at some time, but I do have a very large stock of both. I have about 45 to 60 days of cooking fuel, that’s with three meals a day. And if I start right away to cook with open fire and hot coals I will stretch out my cooking for an undetermined amount of time. The whole idea of becoming prepared is to be ready. To help you hit the ground with both feet and able to run if need be. Times are getting bad and it will only get worse. Get your house in order and pick up some new skills. If you have never cook in the outdoors take a day and go to a park or lake and cook yourself and family a meal and do this every week at least once and try new ways each time you go. I promise it will not be long and you will be a skilled outdoor cook and if the power ever go out, (And it want be long) you will be ready to cook for you and your family.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them are you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!! And Question your leaders, now and forever!!!

Survival Skills #4 Start a Fire Without Matches

Start a Fire Without Matches

Things You'll Need:
Magnesium
Flint
6 or 9 Volt battery
A rifle or handgun with ammo
Camping knife
Magnifying Glasses
Very Fine Steel Wool
Tinder

Step 1
Gather a variety of tinder - wood shavings, dried grass, lint, and even small twigs - before you start. No matter what method you choose for making a fire, you will always need to start with tinder. Ball the tinder up loosely to allow plenty of air flow, and shape it into a birds nest. Have plenty of bigger sticks to add once the fire starts.
Step 2
Use a little magnesium and flint block: Scrape a pile of magnesium shavings on your tinder and strike a spark off the flint. The magnesium will ignite and hopefully start flame in your tinder. Once it begins to smoke, hold the tinder in your hands to allow oxygen in through the bottom and blow gently from underneath.
Step 3
Use a magnifying glass on a sunny day: Angle the magnifying glass in the sun over the tinder so that the focal point is directly on the pile. Once it begins to smoke you can encourage the flame by blowing gently on the tinder from the bottom. Broken glass, bottles or eyeglasses can also work, if their focal point is bright enough.
Step 4
Use a 6-volt or 9-volt battery and steel wool: Tear the wool into a loose mass and touch it to both charges on the battery. Doing so will connect the circuit and cause a spark, and cause the steel wool to glow. Once it's hot enough, you can place it on the tinder until it catches.
Step 5
Use bullets: Remove a bullet from its cartridge and pour half the powder on your tinder. Put the half-empty cartridge back in the gun (without a bullet), and fire it at the tinder. Be certain that your tinder is at the base of a tree or in an enclosed area because the gunfire will likely blow the tinder away and might put out the same flame it creates.
Step 6
Use Friction: Place the point of a straight stick into a groove in a piece of bark or flat wood. Ideally, both of these pieces contain no sap or moisture. Rub the stick vigorously between your hands, while the point creates friction against the other piece of wood. Eventually the wood will heat until it creates a small ember which you can drop in the tinder nest.

Survival Skills #3 Are You Ready?

Are You Ready?
Assemble a Disaster Supplies Kit
You may need to survive on your own after a disaster. This means having your own food, water, and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for at least three days. Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone immediately. You could get help in hours, or it might take days.
Basic services such as electricity, gas, water, sewage treatment, and telephones may be cut off for days, or even a week or longer. Or, you may have to evacuate at a moment’s notice and take essentials with you. You probably will not have the opportunity to shop or search for the supplies you need.
A disaster supplies kit is a collection of basic items that members of a household may need in the event of a disaster.

Kit Locations
Since you do not know where you will be when an emergency occurs, prepare supplies for home, work, and vehicles.

Home
Your disaster supplies kit should contain essential food, water, and supplies for at least three days.
Keep this kit in a designated place and have it ready in case you have to leave your home quickly. Make sure all family members know where the kit is kept.
Additionally, you may want to consider having supplies for sheltering for up to two weeks.

Work
This kit should be in one container, and ready to "grab and go" in case you are evacuated from your workplace.
Make sure you have food and water in the kit. Also, be sure to have comfortable walking shoes at your workplace in case an evacuation requires walking long distances

Car
In case you are stranded, keep a kit of emergency supplies in your car.

This kit should contain food, water, first aid supplies, flares, jumper cables, and seasonal supplies

Water
How Much Water do I Need?
You should store at least one gallon of water per person per day. A normally active person needs at least one-half gallon of water daily just for drinking.
Additionally, in determining adequate quantities, take the following into account:
Individual needs vary, depending on age, physical condition, activity, diet, and climate.
Children, nursing mothers, and ill people need more water.
Very hot temperatures can double the amount of water needed.
A medical emergency might require additional water.
How Should I Store Water?
To prepare safest and most reliable emergency supply of water, it is recommended you purchase commercially bottled water. Keep bottled water in its original container and do not open it until you need to use it.
Observe the expiration or “use by” date.
If you are preparing your own containers of water
It is recommended you purchase food-grade water storage containers from surplus or camping supplies stores to use for water storage. Before filling with water, thoroughly clean the containers with dishwashing soap and water, and rinse completely so there is no residual soap. Follow directions below on filling the container with water.
If you choose to use your own storage containers, choose two-liter plastic soft drink bottles – not plastic jugs or cardboard containers that have had milk or fruit juice in them. Milk protein and fruit sugars cannot be adequately removed from these containers and provide an environment for bacterial growth when water is stored in them. Cardboard containers also leak easily and are not designed for long-term storage of liquids. Also, do not use glass containers, because they can break and are heavy.
If storing water in plastic soda bottles, follow these steps
Thoroughly clean the bottles with dishwashing soap and water, and rinse completely so there is no residual soap. Sanitize the bottles by adding a solution of 1 teaspoon of non-scented liquid household chlorine bleach to a quart of water. Swish the sanitizing solution in the bottle so that it touches all surfaces. After sanitizing the bottle, thoroughly rinse out the sanitizing solution with clean water.
Filling water containers
Fill the bottle to the top with regular tap water. If the tap water has been commercially treated from a water utility with chlorine, you do not need to add anything else to the water to keep it clean. If the water you are using comes from a well or water source that is not treated with chlorine, add two drops of non-scented liquid household chlorine bleach to the water. Tightly close the container using the original cap. Be careful not to contaminate the cap by touching the inside of it with your finger. Place a date on the outside of the container so that you know when you filled it. Store in a cool, dark place. Replace the water every six months if not using commercially bottled water.
Food
The following are things to consider when putting together your food supplies:
Avoid foods that will make you thirsty. Choose salt-free crackers, whole grain cereals, and canned foods with high liquid content.
Stock canned foods, dry mixes, and other staples that do not require refrigeration, cooking, water, or special preparation. You may already have many of these on hand. (Note: Be sure to include a manual can opener.)
Include special dietary needs.

Basic Disaster Supplies Kit- (Very Basic)
The following items are recommended for inclusion in your basic disaster supplies kit:
Three-day supply of non-perishable food.
Three-day supply of water - one gallon of water per person, per day.
Portable, battery-powered radio or television and extra batteries.
Flashlight and extra batteries.
First aid kit and manual.
Sanitation and hygiene items (moist towelettes and toilet paper).
Matches and waterproof container.
Whistle.
Extra clothing.
Kitchen accessories and cooking utensils, including a can opener.
Photocopies of credit and identification cards.
Cash and coins.
Special needs items, such as prescription medications, eye glasses, contact lens solutions, and hearing aid batteries.
Items for infants, such as formula, diapers, bottles, and pacifiers.
Other items to meet your unique family needs.
If you live in a cold climate, you must think about warmth. It is possible that you will not have heat. Think about your clothing and bedding supplies. Be sure to include one complete change of clothing and shoes per person, including:
Jacket or coat.
Long pants.
Long sleeve shirt.
Sturdy shoes.
Hat, mittens, and scarf.
Sleeping bag or warm blanket (per person).
Be sure to account for growing children and other family changes. See Appendix B for a detailed checklist of disaster supplies. You may want to add some of the items listed to your basic disaster supplies kit depending on the specific needs of your family.
Maintaining Your Disaster Supplies Kit
Just as important as putting your supplies together is maintaining them so they are safe to use when needed. Here are some tips to keep your supplies ready and in good condition:
Keep canned foods in a dry place where the temperature is cool.
Store boxed food in tightly closed plastic or metal containers to protect from pests and to extend its shelf life.
Throw out any canned good that becomes swollen, dented, or corroded.
Use foods before they go bad, and replace them with fresh supplies.
Place new items at the back of the storage area and older ones in the front.
Change stored food and water supplies every six months. Be sure to write the date you store it on all containers.
Re-think your needs every year and update your kit as your family needs change.
Keep items in airtight plastic bags and put your entire disaster supplies kit in one or two easy-to-carry containers, such as an unused trashcan, camping backpack, or duffel bag.

Survival Skills #2 Water Conservation

Water Conservation

Indoor Water Conservation Tips

General
Never pour water down the drain when there may be another use for it. Use it to water your indoor plants or garden.
Repair dripping faucets by replacing washers. One drop per second wastes 2, 700 gallons of water per year!
Check all plumbing for leaks. Have leaks repaired by a plumber.
Retrofit all household faucets by installing aerators with flow restrictors.
Install an instant hot water heater on your sink.
Insulate your water pipes to reduce heat loss and prevent them from breaking.
Install a water-softening system only when the minerals in the water would damage your pipes. Turn the softener off while on vacation.
Choose appliances that are more energy and water efficient.

Bathroom
Consider purchasing a low-volume toilet that uses less than half the water of older models. Note: In many areas, low-volume units are required by law.
Install a toilet displacement device to cut down on the amount of water needed to flush. Place a one-gallon plastic jug of water into the tank to displace toilet flow (do not use a brick, it may dissolve and loose pieces may cause damage to the internal parts). Be sure installation does not interfere with the operating parts.
Replace your shower head with an ultra-low-flow version.
Place a bucket in the shower to catch excess water for watering plants.
Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Dispose of tissues, insects, and other similar waste in the trash rather than the toilet.
Avoid taking baths - take short showers - turn on water only to get wet and lather and then again to rinse off.
Avoid letting the water run while brushing your teeth, washing your face, or shaving.

Kitchen
Operate automatic dishwashers only when they are fully loaded. Use the "light wash" feature, if available, to use less water.
Hand wash dishes by filling two containers - one with soapy water and the other with rinse water containing a small amount of chlorine bleach.
Clean vegetables in a pan filled with water rather than running water from the tap.
Start a compost pile as an alternate method of disposing of food waste or simply dispose of food in the garbage. (Kitchen sink disposals require a lot of water to operate properly).
Store drinking water in the refrigerator. Do not let the tap run while you are waiting for water to cool.
Avoid wasting water waiting for it to get hot. Capture it for other uses such as plant watering or heat it on the stove or in a microwave.
Avoid rinsing dishes before placing them in the dishwasher; just remove large particles of food. (Most dishwashers can clean soiled dishes very well, so dishes do not have to be rinsed before washing)
Avoid using running water to thaw meat or other frozen foods. Defrost food overnight in the refrigerator or use the defrost setting on your microwave oven.

Laundry
Operate automatic clothes washers only when they are fully loaded or set the water level for the size of your load.

Outdoor Water Conservation Tips
General

Check your well pump periodically. If the automatic pump turns on and off while water is not being used, you have a leak.
Plant native and/or drought-tolerant grasses, ground covers, shrubs, and trees. Once established, they do not need water as frequently and usually will survive a dry period without watering. Small plants require less water to become established. Group plants together based on similar water needs.
Install irrigation devices that are the most water efficient for each use. Micro and drip irrigation and soaker hoses are examples of efficient devices.
Use mulch to retain moisture in the soil. Mulch also helps control weeds that compete with landscape plants for water.
Avoid purchasing recreational water toys that require a constant stream of water.
Avoid installing ornamental water features (such as fountains) unless they use recycled water.

Car Washing
This is more for now than in a survival event, if you are washing your car in a survival event you need to run out of water and dry up in the sun.
Use a shut-off nozzle that can be adjusted down to a fine spray on your hose.
Use a commercial car wash that recycles water. If you wash your own car, park on the grass so that you will be watering it at the same time.

Lawn Care
This is the same as car washing, this is for now and not for a survival event.
Avoid over watering your lawn. A heavy rain eliminates the need for watering for up to two weeks. Most of the year, lawns only need one inch of water per week.
Water in several short sessions rather than one long one, in order for your lawn to better absorb moisture.
Position sprinklers so water lands on the lawn and shrubs and not on paved areas.
Avoid sprinklers that spray a fine mist. Mist can evaporate before it reaches the lawn. Check sprinkler systems and timing devices regularly to be sure they operate properly.
Raise the lawn mower blade to at least three inches or to its highest level. A higher cut encourages grass roots to grow deeper, shades the root system, and holds soil moisture.
Plant drought-resistant lawn seed.
Avoid over-fertilizing your lawn. Applying fertilizer increases the need for water. Apply fertilizers that contain slow-release, water-insoluble forms of nitrogen.
Use a broom or blower instead of a hose to clean leaves and other debris from your driveway or sidewalk.
Avoid leaving sprinklers or hoses unattended. A garden hose can pour out 600 gallons or more in only a few hours.

Pool
Install a new water-saving pool filter. A single back flushing with a traditional filter uses 180 to 250 gallons of water.
Cover pools and spas to reduce evaporation of water.
And remember a pool or spa is a great storage bank of water.

Survival Skills #1 Water Treatment

Treat all water of uncertain quality before using it for drinking, food washing or preparation, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or making ice. In addition to having a bad odor and taste, contaminated water can contain microorganisms (germs) that cause diseases such as dysentery, cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis. There are many ways to treat water. None is perfect. Often the best solution is a combination of methods. Before treating, let any suspended particles settle to the bottom or strain them through coffee filters or layers of clean cloth. Make sure you have the necessary materials in your disaster supplies kit for the chosen water treatment method.
There are three water treatment methods. They are as follows:
• Boiling
• Chlorination
• Distillation
These instructions are for treating water of uncertain quality in an emergency situation,
when no other reliable clean water source is available, or you have used all of
your stored water.

Boiling
Boiling is the safest method of treating water. In a large pot or kettle, bring water
to a rolling boil for 1 full minute, keeping in mind that some water will evaporate.
Let the water cool before drinking. Boiled water will taste better if you put oxygen back into it by pouring the water back and forth between two clean containers. This also will improve the taste of stored water.

Chlorination
You can use household liquid bleach to kill microorganisms. Use only regular
household liquid bleach that contains 5.25 to 6.0 percent sodium hypochlorite.
Do not use scented bleaches, color safe bleaches, or bleaches with added cleaners.
Because the potency of bleach diminishes with time, use bleach from a newly
opened or unopened bottle. Add 16 drops (1/8 teaspoon) of bleach per gallon of water, stir, and let stand for 30 minutes. The water should have a slight bleach odor. If it doesn’t, then repeat
the dosage and let stand another 15 minutes. If it still does not smell of chlorine,
discard it and fi nd another source of water. Other chemicals, such as iodine or water treatment products sold in camping or surplus stores that do not contain 5.25 to 6.0 percent sodium hypochlorite as the only active ingredient, are not recommended and should not be used.

Distillation
While the two methods described above will kill most microbes in water, distillation
will remove microbes (germs) that resist these methods, as well as heavy
metals, salts, and most other chemicals. Distillation involves boiling water and then collecting only the vapor that condenses. The condensed vapor will not include salt or most other impurities. To distill, fill a pot halfway with water. Tie a cup to the handle on the pot’s lid so that the cup will hang right-side-up when the lid is upside-down (make sure the cup is not dangling into the water) and boil the water for 20 minutes. The water that drips from the lid into the cup is distilled.

“Don’t Take the Flu Shot”

The Poster Revolution: Infowars Launches “Don’t Take the Flu Shot” Contest
Infowars
August 21, 2009
On his nationally syndicated radio show today, Alex Jones announced another poster contest, this one focusing on the H1N1 flu pandemic and the government plan to inject every American with a toxic big pharma soft kill eugenics weapon under the dictates of the globalist United Nations’ World Health Organization.

Alex announced the contest while talking with a Florida teen who is under investigation by police in Clermont, Florida, for putting up the now infamous Obama Joker poster on utility poles. Police told the teen they will likely press charges because of the political content of the poster.

The latest poster will have Infowars.com and Prison Planet.com at the top followed by “Don’t Take the Flu Shot” with eye-catching artwork sending the message that the big pharma and government flu shot is deadly and should be avoided at all cost.

Don't Be Afraid to Get Ready!!!!

Why are so many people so afraid to admit to a bleak future for this country? And so few are getting ready for the hard times coming. I think that the biggest part of this country thinks all will be fine and as bad as it has got surely it can’t get any worse. The walking dead of this country are all in for a very big wake-up call very soon. I think the H1N1 flu is going to get bad and because of the problems across the country our Government will use the pandemic to set up martial law and put a stop to most of our freedoms if not all of them. I’m sure in this pandemic we will see some kind of gun grab or a damn good attempt at one. Food will get very hard to find, because of trucking being put to a stop. Trucks and rail shipments will be at a very minimum. Supermarkets and drug stores will run out or very low on most items. Gas will be hard to find and I’m sure there will be some supervision and limits set of the amount of gas you can buy. And limits set on other items like the food. If you’re very lucky you may be able to find bread at your local supermarket but you won’t be able to buy more than one loaf. I am very sure that black-markets will pop all over so for you walking dead you can still get the baby food you need it just will cost you $20.00 a jar and that milk you need for the baby will cost you $25.00 a gallon. I think so many will get hit with this just like a ton of bricks being dropped on them. I am ready for most events of doom. I have food, water, guns and ammo and me and my wife knows that as bad as it has got it can still get a lot worse, but when I try to tell friend or co-workers they look at me like I’m crazy. I fill sorry for them. I look at it like this if we never have a single problem and all goes well for today and everyday there after and we never have an event of doom. Then I was ready and never needed my preps and all I lost was a lot of time and money that I think is a great investment. But if I’m right and we have a big event of doom the ones that are not ready and have nothing will not only have a hard time living but will be at the mercy of others or worse our Government. Do yourself a big favor and get yourself ready. I promise it will not be a waste of your time, and you may even save you and your family’s life.
Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them are you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!! And Question your leaders, now and forever!!!

WANTED!!!!

Wanted!!!! If you see anyone putting up this poster call the police, NWO, CIA, DHS, FBI and the Salvation Army ASAP!!!! This is a big joke the sheep are going crazy that anyone would do anything to make there God look bad. How dare we do something so hateful and racist. He is the best thing that this country has ever seen.......BULLSHIT!!!! He is a damn fool and is running this country into the ground and I think it's to late to stop or turn around the mess we are in.
My only question is why are people not making a stand about the 1st Amendment rights of the people putting up the posters, I know that you should not break the law and post in an illegal place. But why are we not making a stand about the 1st Amendment?

1st Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. TIME Article Pushes Geo-engineering Agenda

TIME Article Pushes Geo-engineering Agenda

Steve Watson
Infowars.net
Tuesday, August 18, 2009

URL to article: http://www.infowars.com/time-article-pushes-geo-engineering-agenda/

A new article in TIME magazine suggests that geo-engineering the planet may be the only way forward to prevent the climate “collapsing”.

Bryan Walsh’s article, entitled Can Geoengineering Help Slow Global Warming?suggests that through the use of fossil fuels we are “already geoengineers” and that “we might as well get good at it.”

“If we geoengineered the earth into a mess with our uncontrolled appetite for fossil fuels, maybe we have to geoengineer our way out of it” Walsh writes, citing a new paper by the think tank Copenhagen Consensus on Climate.

In the paper, co-author Lee Lane cites all the usual suggestions of how the planet could be cooled including space mirrors, seawater-mist and man-made volcanoes.

The most prominent form of geoengineering suggested in the paper, however, comes in the form of spraying sulfur into the air.

“One way to turn down the thermostat would be to spread sulfur particles into the atmosphere, either through artillery or with airplanes, thickening the air enough so that it would bounce some sunlight back …it would need to be done continuously, to keep up with the intensifying greenhouse effect.” the article explains.

As we previously highlighted when this issue last hit the headlines, the process described here is already being conducted by government-affiliated universities, government agencies, and on a mass scale through chemtrail spraying.

The study of past and ongoing upper atmosphere aerosol programs confirms that the government has been active in this field for years.

The topic of geoengineering came to the fore back in April when Obama’s science czar John Holdren commented in an AP interview that he was pushing for radical terra forming programs to be explored.

Holdren’s suggestions for planetary geoengineering exactly mirrored those in publications penned by the elite internationalist group The Council On Foreign Relations, who also called for the implementation of a global Carbon Tax in 1999.

The Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy then back pedaled 360 degrees on his own comments when the wider media picked up on them and turned them into major headlines.

Holdren’s interest in radical geoengineering programs should be of great concern to the American people and the rest of the world given that he has also advocated extreme population control techniques including forced abortions and mass sterilization all under the oversight of a “Planetary Regime”.

Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. If you don’t believe it you can read it for yourself in Holdren’s own book Ecoscience, co-authored in 1977. Excerpts of the book can also be found in another of our previous articles on Holdren here.

Interestingly, Lee Lane, the author of the new geoengineering paper, is also a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a common hangout for neoconservatives such as John Bolton, David Frum, Irving Kristol, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and John Yoo.

The AEI is renowned for casting doubt on the theory of human caused global warming, and is heavily funded by energy companies, but it is also best known as a forum to engender business opportunities.

These tentative announcements and recycling of ideas to terra form the planet constitute a first step toward introducing the idea to the wider public.

One of the accepted truisms of scientific study is the fact that if scientists are proposing an idea, then those scientists with access to the bottomless pit of black-budget secret government funding are already doing it.

It is highly likely that sulfur spraying and chemtrails are merely one manifestation of “geo-engineering” that is taking place without proper debate, notification or any form of legality, and with a callous disregard for the potential dangers to both our health and our environment.

The Fairness Doctrine is Dead, Long Live the Fairness Doctrine

The Fairness Doctrine is Dead, Long Live the Fairness Doctrine

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
August 17, 2009
Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa is worried about the future of talk radio. On August 14, Grassley sent a letter to Obama’s FCC chairman Julius Genachowski about concerns he has with the appointment of Mark Lloyd as Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer. Grassley discussed the Fairness Doctrine with Genachowski before his confirmation by the U.S. Senate and the senator was told by Genachowski that he did not support an effort to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine

Problem is, Grassley bought Genachowski’s promise. Genachowski knows full well Mark Lloyd wants to purge talk radio of its conservative ways.
In June 2007, Lloyd wrote a paper entitled The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio for the Center for American Progress, a think tank run by John Podesta, a former Clintonite and head of Obama’s presidential transition team after the 2008 election. CAP is a Soros funded operation. It is also aligned with Democracy Alliance, a Soros organization that funds ACORN and the consistent money losing talk radio operation Air America.
“The disparities between conservative and progressive programming reflect the absence of localism in American radio markets,” Lloyd wrote in the CAP paper. “This shortfall results from the consolidation of ownership in radio stations and the corresponding dominance of syndicated programming operating in economies of scale that do not match the local needs of all communities.”
A Gallup poll released on August 17 revealed that self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals in all 50 states. In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either “conservative” (31%) or “very conservative” (9%), the highest percentage in any year since 2004, according to CNSNews. Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are “liberal” and 5% who say they are “very liberal.”
Of course, this demographic does not matter to Obama’s commissariat. They are determined to refashion America and are not above telling lies during confirmation hearings in order to get their way. Obama’s hero, after all, was community organizer Saul Alinsky who advocated infiltrating institutions and making changes from within. It stands to reason, then, if you want to take over the airwaves, you infiltrate the FCC and then hand down mandates from on-high that eliminate or at best hinder the opposition.

It should be noted, however, that Alinsky was a Marxist who believed in social revolution. Obama — contrary to what many so-called conservatives believe — is not a Marxist or even a socialist. He is a minion of a global elite that use socialism as a tool to control people and institutions. It is patently absurd to believe George Soros is a socialist, never mind the drivel put out by the neocons and David Horowitz.
It’s not Rush Limbaugh and the Fox News talking heads Obama’s commissariat have targeted for extinction. It’s the real grassroots, the people who dare oppose Obama — and no shortage of Republicans — at town hall meetings around the country.
So dangerous is this non-partisan movement, the supposed liberal corporate media is busy painting them as “rightwing extremists,” gun-nuts, and racist white supremacists who hate Obama for the color of his skin not the content of his character. It’s all a pack of lies, of course.
In his paper, Mark Lloyd says that “commercial owners who fail to abide by enforceable public interest obligations” — obligations defined by the Soros funded NGOs and think tanks — will be forced “to pay a fee to support public broadcasting.”
Do you think Clear Channel, Fox, and Limbaugh’s EIB Network are bereft of the resources that will be required to pay this ransom? It’s a shake down plain and simple now that the flip side of the New World Order gang is in power. Back in the day when the Republicans ruled the roost, Democrats and “progressives” were the whipping boys. Nothing significant changes under the sway of either faction, a fact painfully obvious now that Obama has picked up where Bush has left off.
It’s smoke screen thrown up by the false right-left paradigm. It keeps the real criminals out of the limelight and produces endless distraction.
Genachowski, Lloyd, and the Soros Democrats will use a refashioned Fairness Doctrine — more accurately described as an exclusion doctrine — to go after small independent talk radio stations and networks unable to pay millions of dollars a year in ransom.
In a year or two, Beck, Hannity, Rushbo and crew will still be around working the false right-left paradigm like organ grinders. They’ll be a few million dollars lighter but it will be a price worth paying — that is until the parlor game invariably flips and they are back in power and in a position to make the Democrats suffer. The agenda of the elite continues no matter who is in office.
Small and independent patriot radio, sad to say, may go the way of the dinosaur in the meantime.

Orwellian’ Police Cameras In Use

How lond before this is going on here in the USA?

Digital cameras - mounted on police officers’ shoulders - are being deployed across a large suburban area of Co Antrim.

In a move reminiscent of the George Orwell novel ‘1984′ with its ‘Big Brother’ camera surveillance of citizens, Newtownabbey officers are using what they claim is “a new weapon in the fight against crime”.

Officers in the borough are being armed with portable video cameras in a bid to deter people from acting outside the law.

These were initially used by other forces fixed on the side of an officer’s cap (pictured), but have since been found to be more accessible as shoulder-mounts.

Specially trained uniformed response and local Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will be using state-of-the-art shoulder-mounted cameras to target crime hot-spot areas.

They are hoping that the new equipment, which records audio and visual footage, will prove a major asset when dealing with problems such as youths causing annoyance and anti-social behaviour.

“By wearing body-worn digital recording devices, also known as head-cameras, we hope to deter people from committing crime,” PSNI Area Commander Paula Hilman explained.

“Also, these cameras essentially bring the scene of an incident into the courtroom. The courts will see and hear the incident through the eyes and ears of the officer at the scene, giving an accurate account of the actions of the accused.

“The cameras significantly improve the quality of evidence captured by police officers, which in turn helps to reduce crime and bring more offenders to justice,” she said.

The equipment comprises a small colour camera linked to a portable hard drive, and every frame of footage shot at the scene of an incident is watermarked so that it cannot be tampered with.

“The use of this type of technology will have a significant impact on how the Police Service are able to deal with crime and the fear of crime. The major factor in this type of equipment is that it provides first hand evidence, and stops people denying their involvement or the part they have played in an incident.”

The new cameras, which will be worn openly and only used by uniformed officers on patrol, are being introduced in Newtownabbey following a successful 12-month pilot scheme in Carrickfergus.

Newtownabbey already routinely deploys landrover-mounted CCTV equipment, mostly at public order incidents, and the centre of Glengormley has seen the deployment of fixed CCTV cameras that monitor flash-point and crime hot-spot areas, with local council staff monitoring the pictures.

Local Constitutional Patriots hold health-reform town hall

By Shannan Bowen

She couldn’t come, but they pretended she was there, saying her absence wouldn’t silence their opinions about health care reform.

So, at Saturday’s “mock” town hall meeting, leaders of the local Constitutional Patriots hung an enlarged photo of Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., and announced plans to send a video of all speakers’ questions and comments to her office.

Almost everyone who spoke to the crowd of more than 150 people seated at New Hanover County Northeast Library – and to Hagan’s photo – was opposed to the health care reform legislation lawmakers are considering.

“We’re in trouble if this thing goes through,” said Arthur Plante, 66, of Watha.

Marilyn Gore, of Wilmington, said she thought the health care reform would put a burden on taxpayers, and she gave the crowd a list of other things that worried her about the proposed health care bill.

“I’m afraid there will be long lines and waiting periods when people are sick. I’m afraid that the government plan will be forced on American people one way or another,” she said.

The crowd that gathered was a mix of ages, though most of the speakers were seniors who spoke of their worries of receiving adequate health care when they were sick.

The youngest speaker – and probably the youngest in the crowd – was the 13-year-old daughter of an anesthesiologist in Wilmington.

“I don’t want people’s hands in my pockets when I grow up,” said Jeannette DiGioia. She said that although she isn’t old enough to vote or have a job, she was well-versed in the recent health care debate and was concerned about her future.

“The Declaration of Independence said every citizen has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” she said. But, she added, the proposed legislation would stifle those constitutional rights.

Elli Klein, of Wilmington, was one of the few health care reform supporters in attendance. She said she didn’t know the meeting was being hosted by a conservative group, though organizers said anyone was welcome.

Klein said she liked several things about the legislation. “I like that there’s an opportunity to moderate what the insurance companies are doing for us. It’s the insurance companies who are making it so we never know if we have health insurance if we are sick,” she said. She said some interpretations of the health care bill are incorrect. “I agree with people who say you need to read the bill,” she said.

Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Rep. Mike McIntyre, D-N.C., the area’s other Congressional members, were notified about the town hall meeting a couple of weeks ago but weren’t able to attend because of short notice, said Mary Kay Mason, the event’s organizer.

Hard Times Ahead

If you read the bible then you know the fate of our world. The bible tells us to be ready.

Luke 21:10-12 (New International Version)

10Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

12"But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.

Some Good Quotes

"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."
Abbey, Edward

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."
Adams, John Quincy

"Posterity: you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it."
Adams, John Quincy

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men."
Adams, Samuel

"Our country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance. It is also owed to justice and to humanity. Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong."
Bryce, James

"The patriot's blood is the seed of Freedom's tree."

Can You Sleep While The Wind Blows?

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.

As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals. Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer.

"Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him.

"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.

Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work. Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters.

He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!"

The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.
Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.

When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm.

We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. We don't need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.

I hope you enjoy your day and you sleep well.

The 9 Principles of 9/12 Glenn Beck

The 9/12
The 9 Principles

1. America Is Good

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life. God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson

Why Be a Patriot?

Why should we stick our neck out for this country? Why should we care? It seams that the Obamacare is right even when it's wrong. If you stand up for Obamacare then your ok, your a good person and you have your government at the top of your list.

My problem is "WHAT ABOUT THE 1ST AMENDMENT"?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Now Pelosi has said, "Demonstrating Against Obamacare is Un-American”.
In an oped in USA Today titled “‘Un-American’ attacks can’t derail health care debate,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., attack those who’ve been raucously protesting health care reform at town hall meetings.

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves,” the write. “Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”

So if you have differing views than the left and The Great Obama then you are Un-American!!!

This country is run by a big group of idiots and it is only going to get worse.

This country is great it's the idiots in charge that suck and make this place a living hell.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them is you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!! And Question your leaders, now and forever!!!

Inject Obamacare Opponents with Sodium Pentothal Until They Admit They are Racists

So far because I don't like or want Obamacare I have been called a right-wing nut, crazy, and Pelosi said, "Demonstrating Against Obamacare is Un-American”, and now they want to drug me to force some kind of confession. Here is the youtube link of Chris Matthews

New Week......

Well a new week is here and as always I am working on my preps. This last weekend I worked in my shop getting it ready. Putting things in place and making a list of items I need to get. I have a good group of tools and I know how to use them. I am working on stocking up on wood, nails, glue and other items I will need in the hard times to come. We all need to have extra items for when the Lowe's and Home Depot's are gone. I talk about getting ready for the days of Doom to come, and sometimes I forget to talk about some of the items we all will need and most of the time over look. You need to sit down and make a list of tools you will need to help you make the days of Doom go a lot smoother. First look at what you have and make a list of the items you don't have but need. Remember you will need items you may have never used before so just getting the items will do you know good if you don't know how to use them so get out and try out the tools you buy and become a everyday handyman. And at the same time become more ready for every event of Doom that comes your way.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them is you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!!

H1N1 Flu

Each year in the United States, on average, more than 200,000 people are hospitalized and 36,000 people die from seasonal flu complications. There is a new and very different flu virus spreading worldwide among people called novel or new H1N1 flu. This virus may cause more illness or more severe illness than usual.

Flu-like symptoms include:
■ fever (usually high)
■ headache
■ extreme tiredness
■ dry cough
■ runny or stuffy nose
■ muscle aches
■ sore throat
■ vomiting
■ sometimes diarrhea

People at greatest risk for novel H1N1
infection include children, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease.

Preventive Actions
■ Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
■ Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.*
■ Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
■ Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
■ If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) Keep away from others as much as possible. This is to keep from making others sick.
■ While sick, limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

Contamination & Cleaning

How long can influenza virus remain viable on objects (such as books and doorknobs)?
Studies have shown that influenza virus can survive on environmental surfaces and can infect a person for 2 to 8 hours after being deposited on the surface.

What kills influenza virus?
Influenza virus is destroyed by heat (167-212°F [75-100°C]). In addition, several chemical germicides, including chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, detergents (soap), iodophors (iodine-based antiseptics), and alcohols are effective against human influenza viruses if used in proper concentration for a sufficient length of time. For example, wipes or gels with alcohol in them can be used to clean hands. The gels should be rubbed into hands until they are dry.
*What if soap and water are not available and alcohol-based products are not allowed in my facility?
Though the scientific evidence is not as extensive as that on hand washing and alcohol-based sanitizers, other hand sanitizers that do not contain alcohol may be useful for killing flu germs on hands.

What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination?
Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air. Germs can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk, for example, and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.

How should waste disposal be handled to prevent the spread of influenza virus?
To prevent the spread of influenza virus, it is recommended that tissues and other disposable items used by an infected person be thrown in the trash. Additionally, persons should wash their hands with soap and water after touching used tissues and similar waste.
What household cleaning should be done to prevent the spread of influenza virus?
To prevent the spread of influenza virus it is important to keep surfaces (especially bedside tables, surfaces in the bathroom, kitchen counters and toys for children) clean by wiping them down with a household disinfectant according to directions on the product label.

How should linens, eating utensils and dishes of persons infected with influenza virus be handled?
Linens, eating utensils, and dishes belonging to those who are sick do not need to be cleaned separately, but importantly these items should not be shared without washing thoroughly first.
Linens (such as bed sheets and towels) should be washed by using household laundry soap and tumbled dry on a hot setting. Individuals should avoid “hugging” laundry prior to washing it to prevent contaminating themselves. Individuals should wash their hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub immediately after handling dirty laundry.

Eating utensils should be washed either in a dishwasher or by hand with water and soap.

Martial Law Under the Cover of Bush Era Quarantine Regulations

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
August 5, 2009
It didn’t fly under Bush, but it might under Obama. “The Obama administration is quietly dusting off an effort to impose new federal quarantine regulations, which were vigorously resisted by civil liberties organizations and the airline industry when the rules were first proposed by the Bush administration nearly four years ago,” reports Politico.
Under the plan, the feds will have the authority to lock down cities or even entire areas of the country under “provisional quarantine.” In addition, the plan cooked up under Bush would have required airlines and cruise lines to store information about domestic and international passengers, such as e-mail addresses, traveling companions and return flight information. The information would be subject to review by federal officials in a health emergency.
Critics say Obama and crew will attempt to sneak through the unconstitutional regulations while Congress is in recess this month.
“The White House’s Office of Management and Budget has set a September target date to complete the first major overhaul of the quarantine regulations in about three decades. That would have at least some of the rules in place if swine flu returns with a vengeance later this year, though officials are reluctant to make that link publicly,” writes Josh Gerstein for Politico.
The plan is backed by the CDC. “It’s important to public health to move forward with the regulations,” said Christine Pearson, a spokeswoman for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We need to update our quarantine regulations, and this final rule is an important step.” The Office of Management and Budget has confirmed the lock-down plan is currently in “an interagency review process.”
As the flu outbreak approaches — promised to hit this autumn — we are beginning to see the full extent of the government’s plan to declare martial law and further violate the Constitution, or sideline it completely.
An outbreak of the flu is only a convenient pretext. According to Politico, analysts said the administration may want to hold new quarantine powers in reserve, for “unforeseen situations” or for diseases other than the flu.
In other words, the government may use the new lock-down regulations for political reasons. Late last year, the IMF said U.S. troops may need to be used to quell protests and bank runs during an economic crisis, according to the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Institute.
In December, trends forecaster Gerald Celente predicted “food riots, squatter rebellion, tax revolts and job marches” in response to a crashing economy.
It was revealed at the time by #Sen. James Inhofe and Rep. Brad Sherman that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson considered the possibility of civil unrest while he pushed for September’s Wall Street bankster bailout and even suggested martial law might be required.
The government’s consideration of new federal quarantine regulations is merely a cynical ploy to exploit fears of a flu pandemic in order to push for a martial law option. There is absolutely no difference between the Obama and Bush administrations – both have put into place plans long ago drafted by our globalist rulers.
It is not al-Qaeda or a flu bug they fear but rather the people who will naturally rise up, as Celente and others predict, in response to tyranny.

The OAS Treaty: Blueprint for Dismantling the Second Amendment

It was only a matter of time before Obama would start a run on our gun rights. All the bullshit that Obama and his group of dumb-ass followers have put down in front of us is starting to add up. This is just one more nail in the coffin of this great country. You need to read this.....

New Month...

This is the first weekend of a new month. I see the DOW is going up and everyone is being told that the housing market is doing much better. Even Newsweek has said the the recession is over and all is getting better. So now that we are all doing better Obama is looking down the road,

By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer –
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's treasury secretary on Sunday said he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul.

As the White House sought to balance campaign rhetoric with governing, officials appeared willing to extend unemployment benefits. With former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan saying he is "pretty sure we've already seen the bottom" of the recession, Obama aides sought to defend the economic stimulus and calm a jittery public.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Larry Summers both sidestepped questions on Obama's intentions about taxes. Geithner said the White House was not ready to rule out a tax hike to lower the federal deficit; Summers said Obama's proposed health care overhaul needs funding from somewhere.

Same Game Just A Different Leader. Just when they tell us we are all doing better they are going to start the new tax push. Obama has never seen a tax he want pass on to you and me. This country is so doomed, so sit back and see the fireworks. It's going to be a long road.

Remember the New World Order never sleeps, so keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground. Because they are coming and the only people who can stop them is you and me with the help of other great Patriots of this country. Stand strong and be ready!!!
